Baddo, the “gloriosa regina”, was a significant female referent of the period. This queen appears alongside her consort, the king Reccared, signing at the Third Council of Toledo (589), declaring their adherence to Nicene Christianity. This fact, unique in the Visigothic world, reveals her political relevance in the kingdom.
However her influence was not limited to this, as it is quite possible that she played a decisive role in her husband’s conversion to Catholicism and in consequence, in the abjuration of Arianism in the Visigothic kingdom.
This project aims to challenge existing preconceptions as Baddo did and introduce novel, humanistic approaches to the use of AI-based solutions for the exploration of historiographical background, with an emphasis on Visigothic Iberia, from an ethical and responsible framework and to contribute to the development of European values and identities.
